The Battle
Strategies/Tactics
The Vimy Glide was a big strategy used to advance. With every three minutes they would advance 100 yards closer the enemy. It was crucial that they kept a steady pace and not walk more than 100 yards in the three minutes. Otherwise they could be hit by their own artillery that was flying over their heads.

Aftermath
This battle lead to Canada getting a signature in The Treaty Versailles during the Paris Peace Conference. This was the start of Canada becoming a self controlled country.

Canada was the only country that was able to capture Vimy Ridge out of all the countries that tried from Germany. This was the first time that Canada came up with there own battle plan and execute it which was the "Vimy Glide". With the work of all of the Canadian Divisions fighting they captured Vimy Ridge.

This battle was a major turning point for Canada becoming its own country. Starting with the Canadian four divisions fought together as one during this. As things advanced the reputation of Canadian grew stronger. With the Canadian divisions demonstrating that they were an outstanding army of the Western front and masters of the offensive warfare. This was Canada's 'nation-making moment' because it involved all of the Canadians in all regions. It proved that Canada can make decisions without the help of other countries.
